The recently indroduced hydrophone string of Type 4 is assembled from 24 active hydrophones moulded on a towing cable. All channels are pre-amplified by factor 8. The supply voltage is provided by a lightweight power supply box (6 volt) placed at the surface.

The standard cable length is 123 m with a hydrophone spacing of 1m (other on request).
